Collins or Reid...
When both fully fit Collins has been better than Reid this season in my opinion....much better in the air

Seems like we had our best defensive performances with Collins and Ogbonna

This season Reid has been injury prone...and has had too many below par displays...error prone and not dominating in the air...

Opinions please

Re: Collins or Reid...
Collins looked on his way out at the start of the season. His sending off against Astra summed him up. To slow and not able to adjust to the faster pace.
Injuries gave him a second chance and he took it,changed his game actually passed balls to team mates. No longer the Allardyce hoof upfield.
Reid is a better player but like Kompany at Man City has to many injuries. When he comes back from these injuries he's not as strong as he should be thus a few mistakes.
Collins is back up for me as Reid has the class.
We need Reid to have a summer off and sort out his problems, probably his back as that is why he has so many hamstring related injuries.

I would hazard a guess that getting dragovic would mean ogbonna leaving as they are both left footed

Can't see one of the being happy to play back up

The team was clearly instructed to hoof the ball in certain (too many) circumstances and as the least worst at it, Collins got the job and the blame.

Watch any match under Sam and see the ball continually get worked back through the midfield and defence to Collins who is left with little alternative but to hoof it.

Ogbonna had the highest pass completion rate of all the defenders when at Juventus (92%) WTF are you talking about you clit?

I hope the rumour we are interested in Alex Dragovic is true. He's a bit like Ginge with a bit more finesse.

From what I've seen this season, we've been much more assured at the back when Collins is in the side. Reid has seemed nervy.

Just glad our manager agrees with the rest of us.

Took a bit to adjust but I thought he was a centre back that could take us to the next level and he looks well on his way.

I loved it when he shook the refs hand when he got booked, by the way. Though Noble did not.

Reece Burke pretty much clearing up at the Bradford City's player awards night tells you he's a special prospect

Re: Collins or Reid...
Am amazed that the one thing everyone seems to agree on is Ogbonna.

Not convinced. Error prone, not great distribution, always looks a bit off the pace and u can see he's spent a long time defending against slow Italian strikers. Plus anyone who captains Torino and then moves to Juve is a wrong'un.

Personally, I think that after a striker another CB is the most important thing we need this summer. Would love to see Dragovic partnering Reid. Europa League should give Burke some first team opportunities. Can't wait to see him in c&b.

Re: Collins or Reid...
I agree with Exile.... Collins distribution has been excellent this season. It makes you wonder what instructions he was under from BFS. It is very clear that Bilic rates him very highly as well. So for me it is Collins/Ogbonna at the moment ... but we are so blessed with centre back strength in depth AND we're hearing rave reviews about Burke at Bradford.

M - I remember the Tommy Taylor experiment, let's be honest he wasn't much of a defender either.
Give me Jimmy Ginge Collins any day

Re: Collins or Reid...
Ginge was immense before his injury and I would definitely put him in the side over Reid. His distribution has been much better this year and actually, Far Cough, he rarely plays it long - Slav didn't take long to put a stop to that.
